Time for an update

I got mail that people were hoping I was OK and would say a prayer for me...thanks.

It's been stressful and busy around here. Tomorrow is a big day for me...would love a few prayers for it...that everything turns out OK.

And I did see a surgeon. I get surgery at the beginning of March. I'll be off work for 6 weeks...so I''m looking forward to spending time at home with my dk's.

Today was Ash Wednesday. Went to Mass with the dk's school. It was very long. But I really enjoyed it. I was happy to be able to go and see the young grow in their faith.

And then I went to work. Everyone was hounding me about the dirt on my forehead...only a few understood the significance of it. I ended up finding an excellent article on the significance of the ashes on Moneybag's blog...knew I could count on him. I printed it out and gave it to the girls to read.

I am looking forward to this Lenten season...I need to make a few changes in my life and this is the perfect time to do them.

And for Lent...once again I am giving up swearing. Last year I didn't swear once. Which was a miracle. So far I said one swear word...I'll have to work harder on it. And I plan on pulling out my prayer book and praying more prayers and reading scripture more.

I love Lent...it is a great time for self reflection,to improve ourselves and give thanks and praise to the Lord and of course for prayers, almsgiving and penance.

Don't really have one

It's not too bad, especially if I can watch TV while I do it. I like to iron in batches instead of one item at a time.

Junk drawer – Yes or No? Where is it?
I have one in the kitchen in my microwave cupboard. Although it is neatly sorted with small containers.

Kitchen – Color and decorating scheme
Light green...sage I guess.

Love – What is your favorite part of homemaking?
Making my family happy

Mop – Yes or No?
Usually on my hands and knees.

Nylons – Wash by hand or in the washing machine?
In the washer, when I MUST wear them, but I dry them on the line.

Oven – Do you use the window or open the oven to check?
I usually open it up.

Pizza – What do you put on yours?
I don't like pizza

Quiet – What do you do during the day when you get a quiet moment?
Computer all the way...lately alot of MSN.

Recipe card box – Yes or No? What does it look like?
I have this expensive large box with matching cards.

Style of house – What style is your house?
wartime house...way too small for 3 dk's and one crazy mom. lol

Tablecloths and napkins – Yes or No?
No.

Under the kitchen sink – Organized or toxic wasteland?
Organized.

Vacuum – How many times per week?
Rarely...have hard floors...tile etc.

Wash – How many loads of laundry do you do per week?
Probably at least a load daily.

X’s – Do you keep a daily list of things to do that you cross off?
No.

Yard – Yes or No? Who does what?
Unless I find someone new it will be my job. lol.

pick up the stray toys.
